Paul E. Carver, 82

Paul E. Carver, 82 of McDermott, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, died June 30, 2024, at SOMC Hospice.  He was born December 9, 1941, in Baltimore, to the late Paul Eugene and Anna Jane (Carter) Carver.  Along with his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Carver and 2 brothers, Ronald and Ralph Carver. 

After graduating high school, Paul joined the United States Navy and married the love of his life, Ginger.  Once released from duty, he became a police officer in Baltimore before moving to Ohio where he worked as both a roofer and ultimately retired as a janitor, of over 20 years, for Shawnee State University. 

Paul is survived by a daughter, Annette (Tom) Hoggard; 2 sons, Paul (Sandra) Carver Jr. and Rick (Stacy) Carver; 5 grandchildren, Alexandra Hoggard, TJ Hoggard, Gabrielle Comella, Dylan Carver, and Kyle Carver; 3 great grandchildren, Cory Comella, and Karrigan and Kendal Carver; a brother, Michael Carver; a sister, Janet Winters, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Carlene Schaffer officiating and interment to follow at Big Run Cemetery with Military Rites presented by American Legion James Dickey Post 23.  Visiting hours will be at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM on Friday.  Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
