Paula Hatfield Obituary

Paula Kay Hatfield, 61, of Portsmouth, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at SOMC Hospice. She was born November 9, 1963, in Portsmouth to the late Leroy and Bonnie (O’Dell) Craft. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Renee Sprague, and her longtime companion, Rick James.

Paula was a devoted homemaker who found joy in caring for her family. She was an animal lover, especially fond of dogs, and enjoyed watching cartoons. She was happiest in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the people she loved most.

She is survived by her son, Stanley (Heather) Hatfield; daughter, Tiffany Hatfield; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Jaden Hatfield, Austin Harvey, Brandon Chafin, Maesyn Hatfield, Caesyn Hatfield, Graesyn Hatfield, Hannah Carmichael, and Hannah Cook; great-grandchildren, Avery, Lucas, Jackson, Noah, and Anzleigh; three brothers, Leroy Craft, Jimmy Hatfield, and George Hatfield; two sisters, Tina (Buddy) Monroe and Lynda Craft; along with many special nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Rick Arthur officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
