I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Derek. Revelation 21:4 tells us what God will soon do: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Darrin, Julie, Samantha, and family... I am so sorry to read about the tragic loss of your Derek. Fortunately, death is only a temporary part of life. Jesus promised us a wonderful resurrection of the dead (John 5:28,29/1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14), so we have the hope of being reunited with our deceased loved ones. In the meantime, even though the pain of loss through death may seem sometimes insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure the coming months (Psalm 46:1). I'm so sorry for the death of your son. This must be extremely hard for you to endure. I didn’t know Derek, but I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest condolences. I know there are no words that I can say to take away your pain, but please take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where Jesus spoke of a resurrection. That promise will be realized when God’s Kingdom rules this earth as it does heaven. Then all sickness, death and pain will be gone forever. (Revelation 21:4) So even though your time with Derek was far too short, in the near future you'll have him forever. I know that you are grieving now, but I hope God’s promises will strengthen and comfort you during this difficult time. -Psalm 46:1

Dear family and friends. I am so deeply sorry to hear about your loss. Derek will be missed, but not forgotten because Jesus' words found at (John 5:28,29) says there will be a resurrection. So what this mean is that Derek will be given a fresh new start with the prospect of living forever in a peaceful new world. (Psalms 37:29) I hope these promises found in the Bible bring comfort knowing that you have an opportunity to see him again to share more wonderful times together.
