Well Jim, it's been a year here on Earth without you. Although I know you are in no pain, a part of me can't help but be selfish and want you back here. Not only because I miss you, but I know Nita and the rest of us do as well. It would help so much with the pain Nita is going through, I think. So much is going on and you were such a rock for so many. You weren't a man of many words, but you definitely loved each and every one of us in your own way. I know the kids miss you like crazy. Please continue to watch over everyone and send us signs that you are with us. I love you, old man!

Well the day is here. Tomorrow we will lay you to rest. It is the day I have to begin to go on without you and I am not sure how to do that. I pray that your soul is at rest, finally. Someday we will be together again and until then remember that I love you. I have loved you for so long James Edward Hodge!! Fly high with the angels...
