Julia was a wonderful, sweet, Christian woman who made me feel very special and loved. I was her customer from when I moved to Portsmouth in the 1970's until Piece Goods closed. I had my own sewing business and saw her several times a week. She was always ready with a smile, some encouragement or some advice if I asked for help with a project. I have thought of her often through the years since then. You (family) have been in my prayers.

Growing up on Nace's Run i can remember how special Julia and Elwood were. They both would do anything for friends and family. Heaven gained an Angel. Sorry for your loss.

I have known Julia from Piece Goods, since way back in the late 60's or early 70's. Was just thinking about her a few days ago. Sad, but happy for her. No more pain, or illnesses. I sewed many items for her when they moved to New Boston, and loved being around her, she was always so sweet and nice to people. Prayers for comfort goes out to all of her family.

I grew up with Julia We were the same age, and in the same class at school. I knew her family. I want to let her family know that I am praying for all of you. I had the privilege of meeting Mary Lou once at the Methodist church sort of recently. I had come back home for a High School Reunion, and attended services there before heading back to my home. I pray for God's comfort for Judy's family, and know we will have a grand meeting sometime in heaven.
